Horror-themed typing game for PC

Type to Continue is a free action game for PC made by indie developer Jacob Bryant, aka Shakles. It's a survival horror that is set in a spooky hotel. In it, you attempt to get away from your pursuer as you type the name of your fellow tenants as fast as you can.

Just like with Nanotale - Typing Chronicles or Typing Force, Type to Continue takes the simple idea of typing and incorporates it as a core gameplay mechanic. What makes it stand out is it uses binaural audio and encourages the use of proper headphones for a more immersive and atmospheric experience.

What is the game all about?

In Type to Continue, you mysteriously wake up inside a spooky hotel with no recollections. You see this dark and eerie hallway that seemingly stretches endlessly. You are not alone, though, as there is some unknown figure slowly coming towards you. You try to get away from your pursuer, but to do so, you will need to type the names written on your fellow tenants' doors that you pass by.

For controls, you will use your WASD or Arrow keys to look around your surroundings as you type in names. The [ and ] keys are used to adjust the volume of the game. If things get too difficult for you, you can press the F1 key to enable God Mode, bypassing the need to type at all—great for just experiencing the game. Meanwhile, the Esc key is for quitting the game.

It would typically take around 20-30 minutes to finish the game. While that might seem like a short runtime for some, it's just about right considering the type of game it is. In fact, new players might find the difficulty curve of Type to Continue to be a bit high, and will probably require a fair bit of practice to get used to.

A unique and atmospheric horror experience

All in all, Type to Continue is quite a surprise (pun intended) to play. It's a game that mixes typing gameplay mechanics with survival horror themes to great effect. It's eerie, atmospheric, and the addition of binaural audio makes for a unique and memorable experience. If you want to test your skills out and get a good scare in, give this one a try.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
